Upholstery and curtain fabrics for interior projects in Berlin

Berlin has cold grey winters, warm summers and a heating season that runs for half the year. Altbau apartments have high ceilings, double box windows and long radiators; newer buildings are glazed and tight. Curtains insulate and darken in winter; in summer, without air conditioning, they keep the heat out. Wool, linen and heavy textures suit the light and the season.

Studios work on apartments in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, Charlottenburg and Kreuzberg, on hotels and restaurants, on galleries and on the offices of technology companies that settle in the city. Budgets vary widely, so the same studio can specify a contract grade fabric for an office one week and a fine wool for a private apartment the next.

Fabric Library, Al Guthmi, Pierre Frey and Ultrafabrics are the four mills at launch. A cutting from a German or European showroom arrives within days; samples from the Gulf mills travel by courier and take longer. Colour is confirmed on a physical sample in the room, under its winter and summer light, before an order.

WEAVRA searches these collections by measured colour, material, wear and use, keeps the fabrics that hold in one selection, and prints an A4 presentation under the WEAVRA name. Specifications come from the mill; the order and the price stay between the studio and the mill.
