Jeddah is the Red Sea port of the Kingdom: humid, hot for most of the year, with salt in the air and a long corniche facing the water. Humidity is the enemy of loose weaves and of anything that traps moisture, so upholstery here favours tight constructions, synthetic or mixed compositions that dry quickly, and outdoor fabrics on any terrace that faces the sea.
The city mixes old and new: the merchant houses of Al Balad with their carved wooden screens, villas in the northern districts, apartments and hotels along the corniche, and a steady demand for hospitality interiors driven by pilgrims travelling to Makkah. Restaurants, majlis rooms and family living rooms ask for fabrics that are cleanable and hold their colour under a very bright sky.
Al Guthmi, Fabric Library, Pierre Frey and Ultrafabrics are the four mills at launch. Cuttings from the Gulf reach a Jeddah studio within days by courier; European mills take longer. Because the light is so bright here, a colour confirmed on a memo sample in the actual room is the last step before any order.
WEAVRA searches these collections by measured colour, material, wear and use, keeps the fabrics that hold in one selection, and prints an A4 presentation under the WEAVRA name. Specifications come from the mill; the order and the price stay between the studio and the mill.
