Upholstery and curtain fabrics for interior projects in Dubai

Dubai runs on air conditioning for most of the year, and the sun outside is strong enough to fade a curtain lining in a single summer. Humidity climbs along the coast from June to September, so interiors near the Creek, the Marina or the Palm ask for fabrics that dry quickly and hold their colour behind glass. Light fastness, a matt finish that does not throw back the glare, and a Martindale rating that survives a busy family room are the first three columns a studio reads.

The projects are as varied as the city: villas in Emirates Hills, Jumeirah and Dubai Hills, apartments in Downtown and Business Bay, hotels and restaurants along the beach, offices in DIFC, showrooms in Al Quoz and Dubai Design District. Each one needs upholstery for sofas and dining chairs, curtains for tall windows, and outdoor fabrics for terraces that are used from October to April.

Fabric Library keeps its showroom in Dubai, Showroom 23 in the Al Shafar Building, and cuts samples on the spot. Pierre Frey, Al Guthmi and Ultrafabrics complete the four mills at launch. A memo sample from a showroom in the city usually reaches a studio within days; a cutting from a European mill takes longer and travels by courier.

WEAVRA searches these collections by measured colour, material, wear and use, keeps the fabrics that hold in one selection, and prints an A4 presentation under the WEAVRA name. The order and the price stay between you and the mill.
